Outdoor cinema is back!

Every summer, Little Italy becomes a premier destination for outdoor cinema, with ten free film screenings taking place throughout the season!

Featuring a program of Italian films at Dante Park and thought-provoking documentaries at Shamrock Square, these screenings invite audiences to travel, reflect, and connect. In a neighbourhood shaped by the history of Italian immigration, cinema also serves as an important vehicle for cultural transmission, helping preserve the collective memory and roots that have shaped Little Italy’s identity.

These events aim to make culture accessible to everyone by offering free screenings where local residents, families, visitors, and film lovers alike can gather to share a love of cinema.

Movie nights are also the perfect opportunity to discover (or rediscover) the diverse flavours of Little Italy’s local businesses. Stop by Café Parma or Marinelli Brothers for a panini, grab a pizza from Pizzeria Napoletana, enjoy a poutine from Chez Tousignant, a stir-fried beef dish from Tibum, fresh spring rolls from Restaurant Gaïa, a Vietnamese crêpe from Chè 75, or a French-style taco from O’Tacos, and then settle into the park for a picnic while enjoying the film under the summer sky.
